Beach FAQ

Red Rock Beach Volleyball FAQ

How is a Beach Team different from an Indoor Team?

At Red Rock our teams function as practice/training groups. Each week the players will practice with the same group at the same time and develop skills together.

Do players have to participate in tournaments?

Beach tournaments are completely separate from our team/training groups and we do not require anyone to play in tournaments. But if they choose to play a tournament we will have coaches there to coach them.

Who signs up for tournaments? Red Rock or Parents?

Unlike indoor tournaments, beach tournament registration is not completed by Red Rock. The club cannot register teams for tournaments. Parents need to register for beach tournaments.

Do we need a partner to sign up for tournaments?

You need a partner to sign up for CBVA tournaments in Santa Cruz. You do not need a partner to sign up for Mavericks tournaments in Half Moon Bay to hold a spot. You will need to find a partner to participate in the tournament.

Does Red Rock pair players up for tournaments? Does my player have to play with a Red Rock Beach player?

Red Rock will not create pairs for tournaments, but we will help to facilitate partnerships by connecting families of players who are looking for partners. Players do not need to play with a Red Rock beach player.
